After reading Janne's posting of the Mandaring ducks, I quickly drove to the Miami River for a 3 hours sit in the tall grass watching these amazing fellows.
Just a few shots to encourage other to visit these amazing ducks. There is room to sit in the grass while the Mandarins swim by or preen on the logs. During my visit a Northern Flicker was seen pecking in the grassy knoll for bugs, and a quick buzz of a hummingbird drew my attention. Just in time to see a flash of red throat and flick - it was gone. A fantastic area to visit.
