Today at Island 22 I heard what I thought was a raven in the distance. It sounded a bit off but I figured it still a raven as they have a range of sounds. It came closer and I realized it was a Sandhill Crane and happily was also able to see it as it flew over. It was quite high up heading westwards. I'm not sure if one of the cranes that has been at Jesperson Road or not.
Another sighting of interest was a flock of 23 Steller's Jay. I don't think I've seen that many at once. They were flying by, tree top to tree top, west to east along the river. They were being very quiet the whole time. Sort of looks like migration/short range movement of some kind going on?
Tonight at home in the driveway I had a calling Sora go over the house. It called several times and I was able to dig my phone out to record the occasion.
Migration is a fun time!

Interesting Jay count. The most I have had is 17 at Jesperson around 7 years ago. I've rarely had double-digit tallies.
Ebird is great for checking data out as it only took me a few minutes.
