Today on My way to the grocery store, I ended up at Airport, where I found 14 Mountain Bluebird. And for once they were not on the other side of the airport from Me. I followed them 3/4 of the way down the airport as they moved. They would fly off the ground and hover briefly, before diving on prey, or were they saying over here slowpoke. I lost all site of them at one point and thought they were gone, and all of a sudden, from behind me, 5 flew over my head landed on fence posts and short shrubs, waited for me to raise my camera and they all bolted. But after that they were more cooperative with their posses. Today I found two Kestrel hunting together, maybe. American Kestrels by Kenneth Davis, on Flickr There were a couple Orange-crowned Warbler at the SE end of the Airport. Arriving at Save On, I found that the Brewer's Blackbirds have arrived at Hope. Travelling home I found 4 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, a Golden-crowned Kinglet, and several pair of Hooded Merganser at Thacker Marsh. And Kawkawa Lake, had two Bufflehead. And nothing else, no Geese, no Robins, No Chickadees and just bird quiet.

Nice stuff thanks for sharing. Odd how sometimes a site can be utterly quiet like Kawkawa was for you.

At Starrett's Pond (Hope Sewage) there are still a lot of Ring-necked Duck, which are the only ducks that over winter around Hope in large numbers. The little meadow created by the pipeline right of way was alive with song. American Goldfinch and Purple Finch were competing for airspace.
