On Monday I went to the Delta area for some birding. Neat to see some of the waterfowl congregating getting ready to migrate. In some instances, some have already left. I always see Pintails at Blackie Spit but on Monday I didn’t see one. Wigeon numbers seems to be down as well.
Point Roberts was next. Had a large raft of Western Grebes and a smaller flock of Brant. Saw the three species of Cormorants. A Common Murre was relatively close to shore. Overall though, it wasn’t too active.
Brunswick Point was the last stop. A lot of waterfowl and songbirds were present. The highlight of the trip was seeing around 550 Snow Geese right along the dyke. They were quite vocal and allowed for a close view. Managed some photos.
