I did some birding with my friend Dave at Willband this morning and in spite of some fog that eventually lifted there was lots of activity. Lots of ducks and geese in the flooded fields just outside of the park. Some highlights were a Ruddy Duck in the channel right near the main parking lot, a Common Teal in the central pond, and a very early Barn Swallow. I hope it survives! We also had a very high count (at least for me) of Bushtits with about 25.

Seems to be a few Barn Swallow sightings in the province. I could easily be wrong, but I think they come up a ways and then head somewhat south again.
Nice high count of Bushtits.
