If anyone is interested in these beautiful shiny black birds with the showy little flash of red or orange peeking out from the backs of their wings, there's a flock of about 30 or so that are hanging out at the end of Shook Rd on Hatzic Island just east of Mission, BC. They've been there for about a week or two.

Thanks for sharing. In the winter they're not necessarily easy to find unless one knows where they've flocked to.

Well, you can find these guys on a hazelnut tree right at the corner of Shook Rd and the driveway into the Green Acres Trailer Park. They seem to be trying to kick the present owners - a tribe of unhappy Stellar's Jays - out of the location they've inhabited for years. So far they seem to be sharing.
