I had today off so I visited the Delta Area to do some birding.
The first stop was White Rock Pier. As always, there were good numbers of Scoters. Had three species of Loons. Always a treat seeing the Red-throated Loons.
Next, was Blackie Spit. Thousands of ducks were present, mostly Wigeons.
Point Roberts was fairly active. Had a few Murres and Guillemots. Picked out four Ancient Murrelets They were relatively close but they dove and never did see them again. Was going to get a photo.
Had Oystercatchers and Turnstones fly by. Three Sanderlings were feeding among the rocks.
