Did a mixture of birding and shopping today. Made a stop at Blackie Spit. Always an enjoyable stop. Watched a Bald Eagle snag a Wigeon and the eagle took the Wigeon near the Martin boxes where it began eating it. Wasn't a pretty sight. There was a Palm Warbler present. I spotted it near the water. Looks like it has been there since the 11th. It's the first one I have seen since I was up in Fort St John. I am used to seeing them on top of Spruces in bogs. I was playing with my camera sightings and forgot to change it so it is really overexposed. Even with editing the photo, it didn't turn out well. Palm Warbler at Blackie Spit (Incl. Dunsmuir Farm & Nicomekl estuary) Point Roberts was fairly active. Good numbers of alcids. Had Common Murres, Pigeon Guillemots, and Ancient Murreletes. Six Sea Lions were the highlight. I think they are California Sea Lions but not sure.
