The early chill has sure brought down the Varied Thrush. There always seems to be a mid September movement of them down to the valley floor, but the last couple days they have certainly seemed to surpass the usual one or three one might expect to find.
Hermit Thrush has also come down from their higher elevation preference for breeding. Most migrate higher up in elevation as well and not often found valley floor. The earlier cold and snow on the mountains seems to have pushed them down. Island 22 yesterday I had three in one spot and singles in a few other locations.
