I've been working in a subdivision close to downtown Fort Langley this week and it has been remarkably birdy: Varied Thrushes, Merlin, a Snow Goose with some Cacklers, and a single Sandhill Crane have flown over. The crane seems to fly over around 10 - 11 am almost every day. Also had a Pileated Woodpecker swooping in to investigate our power pole a few times. But I think the most interesting things I've seen at this site were a Steller's Jay apparently imitating our impact driver, and a Crow plucking a piece of styrofoam from the insulation on the foundation and swallowing it. Just testing it?
