Yesterday afternoon I spotted a flock of about 45 Snow Geese in a field adjacent to the Fraser River while travelling over the Hwy. 9 Bridge. They were with a slightly larger flock of Cackling Geese. Today while walking the Maria Slough dyke, 29 Trumpeter Swans flew over heading westbound at a fairly low elevation. While watching the swans I noticed a large flock off to the west flying fairly low. When I got the binoculars on them it turned out to be the snow's and cackler's from yesterday.
so it seems they may be going to hang around the Agassiz area as they did a couple of years ago. I sure hope so!
