Near the volleyball net at Harrison a Clay-coloured Sparrow paused briefly in a tree. I saw the gray nape so I knew what it was. I could not relocate it or get a picture. There was good sparrow activity here, 10 Savannah 3 Vesper 3 Chipping 2 Lincolns. A few Yellow Warblers too and 1 Orange-crowned. Also there were 14 Red Crossbills hanging out on the beach.

Interesting to hear of more crossbills on the beach. Great find on the sparrow. Harrison seems to have most of the sightings we've had.

It was still there today in the same general location. I got pictures that I'll post later. 2 Red necked pharalopes flew over as well.

It's probably the same one I saw on the 29th, but the way things are moving around who knows?

Interesting to hear of more crossbills on the beach. Great find on the sparrow. Harrison seems to have most of the sightings we've had. Maplewood Flats, in North Van, seems to often have crossbills foraging in the intertidal zone and among driftwood.
