May 10 took us back to the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Headquarters. It was very birdy and we tallied 61 species. Highlights included Kentucky Warbler (with photos), Summer Tanager, and a calling Bobwhite.

After this excursion we relocated to Louisville towards more distilleries. On May 11, we went to a local cemetery in Louisville called Cave Hill. This is where Colonel Sanders and Muhammed Ali are buried!
It was also quite birdy with 52 species. Here are some photos:

At the Willett Distillery tour later that day I managed to spot my lifer Red-headed Woodpecker outside the window of the fermentation room .
On May 12, our final day, we were heading south of Louisville and went to a local research forest, with a primary target being Orchard Oriole. We managed to get this species and more:

This Blue Grosbeak was a pleasant surprise that we were not expecting to encounter. We can thank Merlin for this one as it picked up the call.
