Did a walk at the Heron Reserve this morning. Not surprisingly, very quiet with waterfowl now but did see a pair of Blue-winged Teal. I saw a lot of them in the Peace but it's always nice seeing this species. I would see another three, all males, and a male Cinnamon teal while I was out cycling in the afternoon. There were a few warblers along the trails and had my first Pacific-slope Flycatcher. Blue-winged Teal at Great Blue Heron Nature ReserveAlong the dyke I spotted a Solitary Sandpiper. Another species I saw a lot of in the Peace. I find they have a relaxed way of feeding. Solitary Sandpiper at Dyke Crest Road

I saw them last week as well. I wonder if they’ll be nesting there.
