May is off to a good start with a grasshopper sparrow at the Hope airport! It’s along the chain link fence at the NE corner of the airport across from Bristol Slough Road. Go up on to the dirt road that runs parallel to Airport Road. Lots of birds around.

Ken, well done. A few photos I managed. The nicest view I've had of the species. They're quite beautiful in their subtle way. _0238513 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0238517 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0238520 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr There were lots of birds about; lots of warblers with Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned the most abundant. There were also three Nashville Warblers and four Dusky Flycatchers. Thacker Park had lots of Nashville Warblers as well including three in the binoculars at one time. It should be good tomorrow too.

Better views then I got, the rain had moved in and everything was under cover. I Would not have found it if I didn't know it was there, so Thanks.

I went shopping and happened to check a few spots around town for birds. At the Hope Track, in the gravel section I found 2 Grasshopper Sparrows tucked under a couple little shrubs, trying to get out of the sun. It was 28 Celcius. I went home and got My camera, but they were gone. There was another bird that I could not identify, see Identification section.
