I was leading a Butterfly and Bee field trip with Dennis St. John in the Skagit today. There were 2 male Black-chinned Hummingbirds guarding the sap wells on the birch tree beside the kiosk at Ross Lake. The Kiosk also had a Violet Green Swallow and a Barn Swallow nest up inside. Only got 12 species of butterflies but quite a few at Whitworth Meadows but few along the road.

Does anyone know if the Black-chinned Hummingbirds are still around at Skagit Valley?

Graeme I've not heard any reports lately since Nick's.
