Hi everyone! My grade-level teaching partner and I are piloting an outdoor, nature, and place-based program with our gr. 4/5 classes at Robertson Elementary. One of the access points into this new learning will be exploring bird life in and above our school yard. We have purchased and installed some feeders and we are looking at ways to make our school yard more bird and nature friendly. If you would like to help us to pass on an appreciation for nature (and birds in particular), you could help us a great deal by donating used binoculars and/or field guides to our program. If you have any of these items collecting dust somewhere, this would be a great way to get them into the hands of some eager kids.
If you are in the neighbourhood of Robertson Elementary, you can drop donations in the white tub labelled “Outdoor Ed donations” under the table in our foyer. Mt. Waddington’s will also accept donations for us in Sardis. If you send me a message, I can also pick up donations.
Thanks so much in advance for anything you can contribute,
Christian

Christian, great news! I hope you're able to secure some equipment and resources for this very worthwhile cause. I'll keep my eyes and ears open as well.

Thanks very much. We’ve used the Cornell site and I’ll be sure to check out the birdsleuth site.
