Haven't been out much birding since I have got back up here in the Peace. One of my friends has large property over looking the Peace River Valley. He has a tree stand on his property that over looks a small field within a large forest. He regularly gets Elk, Moose, Deer Coyote and Bear on his land. Yesterday when I was out there visiting he was mentioning about a bear that has been seen a few times on the small field that the tree stand overlooks. He said I could come out today and hang out on the tree stand to get photos of a bear or whatever else comes through. We walked to the tree stand and we saw a bear right near the stand and it had climbed up a tree nearby. I walked a little ways back and then it took off from the tree in the other direction. I climbed the stand and sat in it for over an hour waiting for it to come back. Just when I was about to head back I spotted the bear in the field. It sat there for about 40 minutes eating. One point a Coyote appeared and I got both in the same shot.

Sounds like a fun afternoon. Great shots, Chris. Nice to have a friend like that where you can have great wildlife viewing. Enjoy the new school year and your last day before going back to work. Bruce and Joanne

Looks like the bear has done well fattening up for the winter sleep! Great shots and love the coyote too.

Wow! Being in a tree stand photographing a bear and coyote is a pretty fun way to spend time! Nice shots Chris! Looks like they have no idea they're being watched!
