Got up early Sunday morning and drove to Boundary Bay and the surrounding area and was greeted by an amazing sunrise. We were hoping to see a snowy or two, some harriers and short eared owls. Nor much in the the way of snowys and short eared but did manage to see a long eared owl for the first time. Found 3 long eared owls. Lighting wasn,t great but did manage to get a few pictures. Northern Harrier at sunrise A pair of sparrows Then it was off to Reifel and also managed to see and photograph a lifer for me Great Horned owl (there were 2 of them but one was concealed) Next up was a Saw-Whet Owl Along with a ton of eagles, herons, ducks, and small birds, it was a great day.

Great set of pictures John. Always like doing an outing around that area. Lots to see in the winter.

Nice! Particularly like the first Harrier image with the orange sky. Getting the two Long-eared in the same shot without one obscured by branches is very difficult to do. Well done!
