We spent the last half of the week in Lausanne, where my brother has been helping staff the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base. It's about a 3-hour train ride from Geneva. You really get a good workout walking from one end of town to the other as the city is situated on the shores of Lake Geneva. Thanks for posting the photos.
It must have been cool to see the older buildings and architecture. Looks like you had great weather too!

I lived in the Geneva area for a couple of years in the early 1980's while taking time off during my undergraduate years and got to Lausanne a few times. While too young to really appreciate the history of the region, I remember it as a beautiful town. As I recall, on a clear day, it has a really nice view of Lake Geneva and the Alps across the lake. I was even considering Lausanne as a place to do graduate work at one point but in the end returned to Canada.
By the way, Lausanne is much less than a 3-hour train ride from Geneva which is only 50 or 60 km away.
