Around midday I walked Jack Delair's place and part of the Hope Airport. The weather was nice and the temperature was perfect (at least for me) not too hot nor cold. Lots of birds flying around which combined with the favourable weather patterns of the day made for a very relaxing and enjoyable walk. The Black-throated Sparrow did not turn up so has already moved on or was laying low at the time. Savannah Sparrows seemed particularly active when I was there with an easy dozen out in the field, on the fences and even on the electrical wires. A Western Kingbird flew past as well while I was there. At the end along the airport I spotted a hawk that seemed a little different. Indeed it was as it turned out to be a Swainson's Hawk. I suspect it is a young bird hatched last year. All in all a nice little walk that turned up around 30 species (time constraints limits posting a bird list at this time!)
