Thought I would share this experience because I laughed for quite a while. Last week one of my employees asked me what the "yellow birds" were in her backyard. They turned out to be evening grosbeaks and I informed her of this. Today a few minutes ago she said to me "We had a huge flock of the yuckybeaks in our yard last night". I had no idea what she was talking about of course, but it turns out she had remembered grosbeak as "Gross Beak" which eventually became yuckybeak. She couldn't figure out how they had gotten that name because they are so pretty!! Hope this puts a smile on others' faces as well!
