Hi,
here is the list of birds I saw in or next to the river running south of sapper park, across from the airport.
Mallards Great blue heron Common goldeneye Ring necked ducks Red tailed hawks American coot Red winged black bird Golden crowned sparrows White crowned sparrows Cormorant (was not able to id the species) Dark eyed juncos Black capped chickadees Hooded mergansers Wood ducks Buffleheads American robin European starlings and 3 other species of birds that I was not able to id.

Thanks for sharing Moe!
I haven't seen a Double-crested Cormorant in the area for some time. I remember one hanging out in the Hope Slough on the back side of Little Mountain in December, but haven't seen any since.

Moe, glad to hear you checked that area out. To be honest, when I drive by that area (which is daily on my way to work) I always think what a birdy looking place.
Ive never checked it out though. Is there a little trail to walk or all just natural?

Ive never checked it out though. Is there a little trail to walk or all just natural? There's a bridge to get across the river and into the open field, but the river and small pond is pretty much all natural. Moe.
