common redpolls

hello birders
this morning there were 11 common redpolls in one of the alder trees in my yard with one pine siskin amongst them.
i hope you all have a merry christmas and a good time with your loved ones.

I had a good laugh at this, as usually such sightings are "a flock of a dozen pine siskens with a common redpoll mixed in...". Looks like a good year for redpolls; the predictions from the fall seem to be rather accurate!
