Hi all, I went up Little Mountain close to dark tonight from about 4:15 to 5:15. I had at least one, possibly two, Great Horned Owls answering me. Of course, it could have been somebody else looking for owls too. Unfortunately, when I got close to the one, I thought pishing might bring it out like it seemed to do the Barred Owl last week but it must have scared it off as I didn't hear it after that. I tried calling for barred owl, but well...ahem...let's just say I need to work on the "barking" part of their call a bit. Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year, if I don't see any long-billed curlews before Christmas!! P.S.--I'm hoping to go to Big White for a couple of days next week, so maybe I'll get those pine grosbeaks I've been hoping for...as long as I'm not going fast down a black diamond (like I would be doing that anyway) because then I might be looking at a tree real close! ;D ;D Jeff

Hey, that's for sure two and probably three owls you've got up there right? (sounds like you heard a screech-owl a while back too).
Go easy on the slopes. Dont ram a tree and end up having a nice flock of pine grosbeaks circling your head!!!
