Today we went off to riefel to seek out the Saw-whet owl... first we saw a pheasant :)then the Hawk owl ..still there,lots of Swans and Eagles. Our list was long alot of the regular residents 2 black crowned night herons. Walking down the north path we were greeted by a Bewicks wren then 2 great horned owls ;D along the trail the Saw-whet owl next there were 6 Sandhill cranes a golden crowned and fox sparrow a pintail a really neat fungi a great day (there was NO wind with the sun shining it felt warm...

Nice series of photos. The first Wren shot is my fave. The eye contact is great.

Incredible pictures and report Trudi!! I can't believe how long that Hawk Owl has been present there. Cool looking fungi as well.

Nice series Trudi. A trip to Riefel always gives us something different to shoot doesn't it.

Fantastic day for you...my last trip to Reifel was about a month ago and I did not see the Great Horned Owls...did see the Saw-Whet and Hawk Owl...cool creatures they are!!
