Great find Watchmen,
It's interesting how this species seems to pop up somewhere in the lower mainland every 3 or 4 years. I seem to recall Gord's Dad seeing one in the Greendale area about that long ago. As you will recall, I found one down in the fields by Kilby one Spring. I wonder if this one will end up in the Pitt Polder area as they sometimes seem to do.
Keep em coming!

Murray, dad had it twice in Greendale spanning a couple weeks. Then, Dave ended up getting it near the school in Rosedale about a month later.
You never know!!

Speaking of this great sighting, I recalled earlier today a report from the spring of 2003. A friend, who is interested casually in birds, was driving Highway #1 just west of No. 3 Road and reported seeing a very white raptor flying in the median. He described it acting similar to a American Kestrel but a bit larger and of course white. This almost could make sense given pointed wings and sort of similar flight patterns. He wouldnt be sure or commit to it as he was doing more driving than looking, but saw enough to catch his eye. Certainly an interesting sighting.
