White-winged Doves are quite common in Mexico. A close-up of the head reveals some interesting highlights.

I want to thank everyone for their kind responses to my pictures. I try to thank everyone individually but I am sure I miss some. I have to warn you that the feedback just encourages me to post more : > )

When people saw we were interested in birds we were frequently asked if we had seen the Flamingos. We had to say I think you may have seen Roseate Spoonbills. Taken in a little town called Isla de Palmito Verde south of Mazatlan.

Nice colours on the dove. Is that digiscope or just the camera?
The spoonbills are amazing.

Thanks for the comment Gord. Yes, the dove was digiscoped as is 99% of everything I shoot. The Spoonbills in flight was just the camera. here are some Elegant Quail that joined the campsite almost every morning...

Thanks Coastal, I have had a few comments on that one. It helps when they land right in front of you. here's a Yellow-eyed Junco taken in Portal Arizona in March.

Great picture once again! If all is well, I hope to make a camping trip with my wife and 2 sons to SE Arizona this summer. A stop in Portal looks like it is needed!
Thanks for sharing your photos. I am enjoying them all.
