After a fun day yesterday, sloughing through the rain and wind, looking the Slaty-backed Gull, my wife decided today would be a good day to go to Chilliwack for lunch, and some shopping!! Driving back along Chilliwack Central, east of Prest was a beautiful Cooper's Hawk sitting on a wire. Can't remember the last time I've seen a Cooper's sitting so much out in the open. I usually spot them on a branch in a group of trees. Anyway, it was a great opportunity to get a " full on " view of this striking hawk. Lots of white in the breast. I could see it had its eyes on a flock of Rock Pigeons buzzing around nearby. Thor Hope, B.C.
