I think I found Thor's white gull today. Boy, did it ever stand out when scanning through the flock with the binos!! On closer examination I determined it to be a juv glaucous gull. This bird was found in a field north of Prairie Central Rd just west of Banford Rd. Tried a few shots through the scope but didnt do many as it was pouring rain (stopped 5 minutes after I left of course) The first one has a Thayer's gull in the picture too. The pictures are poor, but there's limited markings on the wings and the primaries are white. The bicoloured bill and head shape agrees with glaucous gull. I managed a shot of it calling after a brief but victorious struggle with another gull over something slimy. The 'posture' of the head while making the 'long call' (the call they do while swinging their heads up and down) perfectly matches what is in Sibley's (something I dont often watch for when performing the task of identifying gulls) Cool bird!

Nice shots anyway, under the conditions you had to shoot the pictures.
