A flammulated owl was found in a lady's yard in Sardis (south Chilliwack) while she was putting out her Christmas decorations. It was sitting on the ground and was easily caught. O.W.L came and picked it up and determined that the bird was hungry and got caught in the chilly weather.
Flammulated owls, a tiny owl about robin size, migrate for the winter to Mexico and Central America. They can be found in the Okanagan during the summer months and are one owl Id sure like to see someday.
