hello birders
last wednesday there was 1 white-striped morph white-throated sparrow in my yard. it spent half the day in the yard. yesterday afternoon(oct.21st) at around 4:00 i counted 3 tan-striped morph white-throated sparrows in my yard along with 1 golden-crowned sparrow along with a bunch of juncos and towhees. i have never seen that many white-throated sparrows at once around here before. i though that was pretty cool. it is strange that i hardly ever get a white-crowned sparrow in my yard yet every year i get 1 or 2 white-throated sparrows. must be on some small scale fly way for white-throated sparrows. check out all sparrow flocks, there may be more white-throated sparrows out there; maybe even a harris' sparrow.
