Today I got a call from a family out in East Chilliwack about a great sight they had in their backyard. Yesterday, they had three Lewis's Woodpeckers flycatching off the dead top of their big cottonwood tree! This morning there were two and when I got there there was the one. They have a very birdy backyard and are very keen for their birds. I really appreciate the call and their kindness in letting me come by for a look. One Lewis's Woodpecker is of note, but to have three at once is something else! Amazing birds! One might not associate flycatching with a woodpecker! You can see in the bottom left corner of this photo the object of this guy's attention!

Also got out to Cheam Lake this morning and spotted a male Merlin, Green Heron and an Osprey went fishing for about 10 minutes. Also spotted 2 Brown Creepers.
