I have pygmy owl and Cassin's Vireo from an outing I havnt had a chance to share yet! Great find on the Solitary Sandpiper!!! Also Vaux's Swift and Townsend's Warbler. There were several flocks of California Gulls flying over Island 22 recently as well. Migrating flocks I assume although I seem to remember this happening in August. Another early arrival? Missing birds: Clark's Nutcracker. Anyone been to Manning and saw one? American Dipper. They're basically out my backdoor...out of principle I should go see one!! Sora or Virgina Rail There's always a few missing ones! Keeps it interesting. August is when the migration starts...should have a few fun species to add!

Was a Common Nighthawk mentioned for July. If not, this late report of a couple of these aerial acrobats above the head of Alouette Lake, seen at 5 am on July 21st.

Forgot to mention the beautiful photos of the Solitary Sandpiper Bruce and Joanne photographed on the 30th. www.butterflyonmyshoulder.ca/Journal/07_08/07_08-23.htmAlso updated the July list with a couple of misses (went through my field notebook and found Red Crossbill and Olive-sided Flycatcher) such as Deb and Tony's finds from their Manning Trip.
