A hike up Needle Peak Trail can add Prairie Falcon, Rough-legged Hawk, and Northern Pygmy Owl if needed on the list.

This morning, we had three Trumpeter Swans heading toward the hunters in the farm field next to the heron reserve. We know several people who are very distressed about the hunters every weekend in the farm field next to the heron reserve. Does anyone know if they can hunt Swans? They have been getting a lot of Geese every weekend.

List is updated. We're getting towards the end of the month and here are some notable misses thus far: Eurasian Wigeon Blue-winged Teal (I believe Gord had one of these) Goldeneye Sp. Spruce Grouse (I think someone had this too) DC Cormorant Gull sp. Canada Jay Clark's Nutcracker Gord, I know you've got some additions!

I do have Double-crested Cormorant and Blue-winged Teal.
Gulls: Herring Gull out on Sumas Prairie Mew and Ring-billed Gull several locations. Almost seems like more Ring-bills around than usual. Many young ones.
Horned Lark (Hope Airport and Harrison)

Randy, dug deep for an Eurasian Wigeon last few days. The fun part of this little game is where it takes you to places to try and fill some gaps. In this case, it was checking for the wigon among flocks of ducks. I've yet to see the huge American Wigeon flocks around.
American Tree Sparrow can be added though from today as well as Common Redpoll near the sparrow and Thayer's Gull from out on the river.
Checking my field note book:
I did encounter a Western Screech Owl as well this month.
Western Kingbird and Western Wood Pewee from Oct 1
The boys and I found a Lesser Yellowlegs Oct 2 in east Chilliwack
Long-billed Dowitcher Oct 18 also east Chilliwack
Red Crossbill from a few locations over the month.
Purple Finch as well including one at our feeder which is not usual.
