We got to see the Iceland this morning briefly and again this afternoon where it stayed for a few hours and was still there when we left around 3:15. It was sitting on the ice so I could get some stationary shots. Thanks again Gord.

GREAT shots Len and glad you got it!!! Man, almost looks like a Mew Gull in some of those! I really wonder if this IS a 'true' Iceland Gull. It's way out of range but I never ever give too much weight to the 'out or range' part of considering bird identification. Ive seen way too many birds way out of their usual range to use it to beat down good field marks. How's that go again? Anything, anyplace at anytime! ;D ;D This, of course, will require more observation and ideally, input from those who see them regularly to get more. Im glad to hear several people got to see it today. I suspect that once the snow melts it may change the patterns of these gulls as they get back to using the fields again. They move around enough as it is. The snow seems to make them a little more predictable.
