Was driving home today from a job in Ft Langley and saw a funny looking hawk leave a tree with a red-tail in it. Turned out to be a Short-eared Owl, which cruised around the fields off 264th st before disappearing into the fog. A pleasant surprise, and my first time seeing a Short-eared outside of Delta.

That’s awesome I always associate Short Eared Owls with Delta, too, but I’ve had my best and closest looks at them here in the valley.

Hi all,
I assume the same owl was present off 264 street on December 15 at 16:00. Also here was an American Kestrel.
Good Birding
