Met up with Dave Beeke at 104th St yesterday. After quite a bit of searching, we were finally able to spot the Curlew sandpiper that's been hanging around between 104th and 112th. However, it was only a 2-second view, as the bird quickly took flight along with the peep flock it was with. A few minutes later, we were treated to amazing looks at the Buff-breasted sandpiper that has also been seen here: Buff-breasted sandpiper by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr On my way back to the parking lot, I noticed an odd-looking peep that later turned out to be the CUSA: Curlew sandpiper by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr Both these birds were lifers for me .
