My wife and I went on an Alaskan Cruise for some R & R. We met and hung out with 2 families from England and one 25 yr old gentleman from Australia at different intervals. It was a paradise experience! Birding was secondary for me, as you can imagine, with all the food and entertainment available and the time I needed to spend with my wife, Dawn. I managed to see many common birds we regularly see on the West Coast. I will provide a complete bird list at the end. I managed to acquire 5 Year birds: Pigeon Guillemot, Arctic Tern, Wandering Tattler, Black-legged Kittiwake and Buller's Shearwater. I was unable to figure out how to shrink my pictures so that they could equal 1 MB. If someone could assist me with that I would appreciate that. I read that I may be able to accomplish this in my camera settings. Ill check into that.
Here is the complete list of the birds spotted in Alaska and BC waters:
Canada Goose-4 Harlequin Duck-20 Buller's Shearwater-6 (somewhere near Queen Charlotte Islands) Pelagic Cormorant-1 Wandering Tattler-7 (on sand bar near Cruise ship) Pigeon Guillemot-6 (seen in Juneau and Skagway) Rock Pigeon-24 Short-billed Gull-44 Glaucous-winged Gull-43 Bonaparte's Gull-65 Black-legged Kittiwake-55 (interested in what the ship was churning up-Glacier Bay) Arctic Tern-81 (seen at Skagway port and near a glacier-Glacier Bay) Bald Eagle-13 Belted Kingfisher-1 Stellar's Jay-`1 American Crow-26 Common Raven-24 Ruby-crowned Kinglet-1 American Robin-3 Pacific-sloped Flycatcher-1 (riding with us on the ship) Violet-green Swallow-5 Barn Swallow-3 Pine Siskin-8 Song Sparrow-3 Savannah Sparrow-20 Dark-eyed Junco-1
(list in no particular order)

Solid list Damion! A couple of those would be lifers for me. With the photos, if you did any eBird checklists you can add them to there and then following the steps here fvbirding.com/eBird/Checklist%20Photos.htmlOr you could also add them to Flickr if you didn't do any eBird checklists.

Hi Chris: Does eBird require uploaded photos to be the size of 1MB. If it doesn’t then I will try uploading my pics to my eBird checklists. Thanks! Which would be lifers for you? I would like to go on another Pelagic trip.

Damion, I think the upload size is 10MB or 12MB on eBird.
Buller's Shearwater and Black-legged Kittiwake would be lifers.

If anyone wants to view any ID photo from my Alaska Cruise they can find them in my eBird posts. I don’t know if there’s a more detailed description or tutorial for adding photos from eBird to Fraser Valley Birding. It would certainly help me since I am a bit technologically challenged. Thanks.

Kenneth, you can search in the Hotspots category June 6th-Juneau (town), June 7th-Skagway—Arctic Tern colony, June 8th-Glacier Bay NP—Muir Inlet, June 9th-Ketchikan—Rotary Beach Park and June 10th—Queen Charlotte Sound (Central Coast). I hope that helps!

Yeah, that makes sense! I’ll consider that option next time.
