Jaguar Creek was a one-night stop - awesome habitat but quite costly. It is a not-for-profit doing good work so that helped offset the costs in our mind . Literally placed deep in a jungle setting.

The next two nights were on the beach (especially for family interests sake but there were still birds everywhere!

In the southwest Crystal Paradise Resort has some great habitat and we stayed one night en route to Black Rock Lodge. Their feeders attract some goodies

Black Rock Lodge was great - best memories were finding my 2,000th life bird - Orange breasted Falcon as well as having an epic birding hike where we photographed Singing Quail, Mayan Antthrush, Pheasant Cuckoo, Rose-throated Tanager, and Tody Motmot all in the same hike!
Not the best picture but only the 2nd time ever that a photo of a Singing Quail is on ebird for Belize! Rare opportunity!

After 10 days we headed to the Great Barrier Reef and islands for some snorkeling. On route I photographed world life bird #2,001 - Gray-crowned Yellowthroat. I may have got a bit carried away with pics...

This yellowthroat was 30 minutes after the Orange-breasted Falcon - number 2,000. It was too distant to photograph so I took many of the yellowthroat to compensate.
It was off to the island/beach for the final 4 days! A highlight was snorkeling with rays, sharks, turtles, and more. Great fun with the family and very thankful we did it before our kids have finished growing up. It is going so fast as our oldest is working now and our youngest just turned 10.
Hope you enjoyed a peak at the 7,000 bird pictures I came home with. If you ever plan to go to Belize, I highly recommend it. Very easy to do on your own, great food, safe country, awesome habitat variety, 294 species in 14 days of part-time birding, need I say more?
Here is a link to a full trip-report showing all the places we went. If you click "show all details" next to SPECIES OBSERVED, I believe you will get all the detail you can wish for. Just in case anyone wants a deep dive in data!
