Morning fellow birders. I had a big surprise at Willband. Along the ditch that is the eastern border of the park I heard a faint trill song, but did not see the source so I pished a while and the sparrow surfaced still singing. It had a rufous cap, stripe through the eye and white belly--a Chipping Sparrow. John Vooys

Thanks, John for the update. I was at Hope Airport in the afternoon and also had a Chipping Sparrow. It was on the north side in the green field. I first heard it singing and probably would have passed it off as a Junco if I didn't see your post earlier. I finally managed to get a visual of it.
