Wow! Beautiful photos Gord! You didn't caption your Turkey Vulture photo correctly though I too am surprised that the Bluebirds stayed for so long. I thought they'd be gone within 1 day. But luckily for me (and everyone else ), they've stayed a while

You didn't caption your Turkey Vulture photo correctly though That was a test! You passed. But point well taken. What kind of birder am I? The caption should be "I was photographing a Turkey Vulture when this rainbow got in the way!"

No Western Bluebirds yesterday afternoon, but there were 5 Mountain Bluebirds and a Solitare. Also found Townsends Solitare in Silverhope creek and Kawkawa Lake.

Two Western Bluebird females continue today at the weather station at the Airport
Yesterday the boys and I took a chance on the weather and headed east. Near Hope Airport the rain stopped! At the Airport we saw five Townsend's Solitaire in various locations. At the weather station Benny got his lifer Western Bluebird and a new Fraser Valley bird for Jamie. While we were enjoying the Westerns, we mentioned that Benny seeing Western Bluebird before Mountain Bluebird is amusing given the rarity level of the Western. We turned around and there was a young male Mountain Bluebird hovering about 40 feet from us!
We check the sewage plant but it was sort of quiet. Kawkawa Lake sometimes can be very good when the weather was poor but it was also sort of quiet.
Checked for a few shorebirds in East Chilliwack on the way home (back in the rain) and found a few Greater Yellowlegs.

I saw both around 11 today. There was also a Townsend's Solitaire or two at the west end.

Paul, glad you got to see them. I saw them as well, including a young male Mountain Bluebird and a Vesper Sparrow at the east end.
