Hi Fraser Valley Birders: My wife had an appointment in Victoria today. While she was preoccupied, I nipped up up to the Cedar Hill Golf Course, and found an easy Tufted Duck, at Kings Pond, even though it had not been reported since last Sunday. I'll post a picture once the camera battery charges. We were going to stay the night, but plan to go back soon, so on the way back I promised her a no more than 15 minute look for the Mockingbird on 72nd st. in South Delta. We watched the Northern Harrier/Short eared Owl show at the end of 72nd, and then pulled into the Owl rehabilitation Center. For no reason I stopped right beside a Holly bush, and right in the middle of the bush was the Mockingbird!! No way could it be seen unless you stopped right there. One of those sernendipitious birding days to make up for some, ( not all ), of those days where the birds do their best disappearing acts. Cheers, Thor
