As I live on Brooks, the nearest eBird hotspot to me is Robertson Elementary School. I visit ever so often for birding. The past two days started off calm with a DOWO but as I got near the parking lot and heard some siskins. I like siskins enough to check them out, but I was greeted with something much better. In the creek I noticed a mallard, another mallard, and all of sudden I see 25-40 wood ducks. In the water and along the steep bank into somebodies yard. They seem to start leaving around 4:40pm. So if your in Chilliwack and you can't leave to see the Mockingbird in Vancouver, check out this high count.

Nice! That's a nice little spot, and the bird feeders can be interesting to watch. A California Scrub-Jay had been hanging around the elementary for a few years in the winter, which I think is why that became a hotspot. I'm not sure when it was seen last.
