This past weekend we were visiting relatives in Okanagan Falls and decided to keep track of all birds we saw from the time we left OKFalls to when we got home. Route taken was south from OK Falls to Oliver, down Black Sage Rd. to Osoyoos, then west through Keremeos, Princeton, Manning Park (side trip to Lightning Lakes), Hope, down north side of Fraser to Agassiz and then home.
Rock Doves - 36 (OK Falls, Keremeos & Hope)
Mallards - 43 (OK Falls & Oliver)
Steller's Jay - 2 (OK Falls & Agassiz)
American Kestral - 5 (enroute)
Red Tail Hawk - 2 (at least....Oliver to Osoyoos)
Am. Crows - 71 (mainly just before Osoyoos at a cattle pen)
Red Wing Black Birds - 28 (OK Falls to Osoyoos)
Starlings - 92 (at least - mainly in Oliver to Osoyoos)
Northern Harrier - 1 (Black Sage Road)
Raven - 20 (along the whole route)
Northern Flicker - 2 (1 Black Sage Road, 1 Agassiz)
Buffle Head - 1 (female in river near Osoyoos)
Goldeneye - 2 female (in same river ~ not sure which type)
Rough Legged Hawk - 2 (Osoyoos and Keremeos)
Canada Geese - 145 (flew over Osoyoos on a coffee stop)
Black Billed Magpies - 2 (Keremeos)
Bald Eagle - 9 (enroute from Keremeos to home)
Sharp Shin Hawk - 1 (Keremeos)
Barrow's Goldeneye - 2 (Princeton)
Gull - 1 unidentfied (Princeton ~ lunch break)
Gray Jay - 12 (Lightning Lakes, Manning Park)
Clark's Nutcracker - 2 (Lightning Lakes, Manning Park)
Lesser Scaup - 2 (Sunshine Valley)
North West Crow - 5 (Hope to Agassiz)
Trumpeter Swans - 14 (Agassiz)
Common Merganser - 9 (Harrison River)
Probably more species on Harrison River but the lights are gone, both lanes on bridge now open, so no time to look.
Saw a lot more raptors that we couldn't ID either because we aren't very good at it or didn't get a good look.
