At Thacker Park were at least 10 Dippers. The most I have seen in a long time. Also a pair of Harlequin Ducks on the Coquihalla River. Surprisingly there were no ducks on the marsh. Kawkawa Lake had a lot of Coots, a few Horned Grebes, and one Common Loon. There looked to be female scoter quite a ways out there but couldn't confirm.
Hope Airport was very quiet.

Chris, missed you by a few minutes. Got a count of 14 American Dipper on one stretch of spawning channel (Thacker Park), so must be more than that number. They were very vocal when I first arrived. The Harlequins were a valley first for me. Four Hooded Mergansers flew into the swamp while I was there.

Nice, Ken. I don't think there are many records of the Harlequin Ducks for November in the checklist area.
I found the dippers difficult to get an exact count because most were moving quite a bit. It was really neat to hear quite a few vocalize.

Nice you guys got to see them. They were first noted there on Monday as a coworker saw one. Quite an odd sight for the fall indeed.

After photographing the Harlequin Ducks Friday I went to Kawkawa Lake and counted 92 American Coots feeding in the shallows by the car park. I also had a dozen dippers but there were many more than that if a person would to continue walking up past the marsh.
