The crew and I went out to try for the recently-reported Rock wren on Friday. After some searching we finally found it in front of some houses; being careful not to point anything at the homes. The bird was not too shy, and gave us and several other birders really great views. Rock wren by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr Next, we went over to Boundary Bay at 72nd Street. Though we didn't see any Short-eared owls, we did get a Peregrine falcon, a Rough legged hawk, and a murmuration of Dunlins. We also saw what I'm pretty certain was an American tree sparrow as well.
