The first stop was White Rock Pier. The tide was quite far out. There must be a lot of fish in the area now because there were quite a few fishing boats around and birds. I estimated around 200 Western Grebes and there were many scoters but couldn't pick out a Black Scoter. All three species of loon. There was a huge Sea Lion present that surfaced with a large fish in its mouth. The big surprise was a Porpoise. It was fairly close and I saw it surface multiple times. Blackie Spit was also very active. Tons of Wigeons. This heron coughed up something while I was photographing it. Maybe it was getting sick of me? Does anyone know what it is? There has been a Rock Wren present at Centennial Beach. It was an excuse to check out a new site I have never been to. Did find the Rock Wren and there were many waterfowl present but a good chunk couldn't be identified. The last stop was Boundary Bay. Thousands of Dunlin were at the foot of 112th. They put on quite an aerial display when a Merlin took a pass at a few.

Thanks for the report Chris. The Dublin shot is great. I'll have to find a way to do some coastal birding soon.
