I finally made it up to Flatiron with the help of my birding friend Craig. I hadn't hiked for 18 years due to a nasty broken foot which has never really healed properly. His encouragement and patience was much appreciated. Being the Luddite I am I can't seem to post pictures on this site so I am including a link to my blog from the day. I hope you enjoy it. thecanadianwarbler.blogspot.comJohn Gordon

Wonderful blog post and some great images! I admire you for pushing yourself to climb something that due to a bad knee I do not feel I could do, maybe I may have to rethink that. Thank you for sharing your adventure!

Very nice blog John. I don't think i could do that anymore even though I walk every day. The Pygmy Owls are exceptional.

Congrats John. All the birds and a safe trip. Your big year is doing well. I have done that climb twice, once, before I was a birder all the way to the top of Needle Peak and 5 years ago to Flatiron for birds. I could not do it now. Blessings, John Vooys

What a treat to read your post and look at your beautiful pictures John. Just read the Aldergrove Lake portion and was equally impressed. Looking forward to the next one.
