Snow Geese are certainly in the valley. Murray ran into some at Harrison Lake who were looking a bit tired from their flight. Similarly, the local wildlife rescue reached out about a lone bird that showed up at the auto mall and was eating the grass like it was going out of style. At Island 22 I saw a flock of 27 flying over quite high up. This evening I saw a neat sight of 54 at 8:45 in town. I heard them overhead and then could see them by the lights of town reflecting off their white bodies. At home later this evening I heard some flying over as well. And...as I type this message Jamie coming in from heard some flying over the house just now.
At Island 22 in the dog park I bumped into a late Black-headed Grosbeak. A good one for our October challenge.

I heard a SNGO flock flying overhead on Monday night, here in Clearbrook (Abbotsford).

I have noticed several small groups of Snow Geese which seems unusual since we normally see them in big flocks. And some seem very tame and unconcerned about people like the ones at Harrison and three I saw at Blackie Spit the other day...
